We have already received several ideas from projects ahead of the deadline of 22 July on how they wish to realise the outcomes of their projects to other institutions, please keep them coming. I’ll feedback on any ideas received and help to focus you on the type of benefits realisation activities the JISC are looking for, this way we can work together to achieve greater benefits for the wider community.
The full details for benefits realisation funding are outlined in the invitation (Phase 1b invitation) but to put it simply, this is an opportunity for your project(s) to get some additional funding to collate materials across projects, run a national workshop, exploit dissemination opportunities through subject centre or JISC services (as examples) or cascade your project to more institutions.
Remember benefits realisation funding is not about doing more project research or development, but to cascade what you are achieving to other institutions. We are also looking for wider dissemination through workshops, seminars etc Please read the following blog posting from Lawrie Phipps “Rethinking Dissemination in Educational Technology Projects” (here) which explores how you can better disseminate and share the lessons from your projects.
The JISC programme managers have recently sent out an email asking you to “indicate there loosely formed ideas and an approximate costing”. This does not mean you have to put in an idea by the 22 July, but please let Lawrie or Ruth know if you have any interesting ideas for benefits realisation activities.
Please send me drafts or email me an outline idea in advance of the deadline. If you’re not sure whether you should submit it now or wait for the next invitation, I’d be happy to advise. Further advice will be available from http://br.inin.jisc-ssbr.net/
